Each day leading up to the 2011 Festival, the TOsketchfest Blog will feature one of our 40+ awesome comedy troupes.
Today’s troupe is Smells Like the 80s!
Smells Like the 80s is part of the old guard of the Toronto sketch comedy scene… I know, it’s hard to believe with their fresh faces and good nature, but these weathered sketch comedy veterans will be making their fifth appearance at TOsketchfest in 2011.
Last year was a banner year for SLT80s at TOsketchfest. They claimed both the 2010 Sketch Com-Ageddon Championship and the 2010 Sketchiest Sketch Troupe Award… two serious accolades that they claim have “made-up sounding names.”
Trevor, Curtis, Cam and Sean are favourites around TOsketchfest. They have a high joke-per-minute ratio, wear ridiculous wigs and dresses, and treat you to straight-up sketch comedy. No muss, no fuss, just a lot of funny.
Troupe member Trevor Wilson won both the 2010 and 2011 Toronto Comedy Brawl stand-up competitions. And you lucky ducks can also see him solo, hosting some shows during TOsketchfest.
