TOsketchfest presents the SiriusXM Sketch-Off

Sketch Off Round Up!

Comedy Bar was packed for the first ever SiriusXM Sketch Off on March 2nd,  as bloodthirsty sketch comedians went mic-to-mic in an audio sketch comedy competition that will result in one troupe walking away with a professionally produced comedy album recorded by Sirius XM Canada and distributed by Comedy Records. The event boasted 12 of the following super-talented Toronto-based sketch troupes, which made it serve  as a great preview for what’s to come in the 2013 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival taking place March 7th – 17th.

British Teeth
Templeton Philharmonic
Vest of Friends
Tony Ho
Parker and Seville
The Local Drysdales
Two Weird Ladies
Elephant Empire
Smells like the 80’s

But at the end of the night, four finalists were chosen with two audience-vote picks going  to Tony Ho and Templeton Philharmonic, and two “secret” judges’ picks (ahum… Ben Miner of SiriusXM Canada and Barry Taylor from Comedy Records) going to Primo and Ladystache.

Here’s where you come in, sketch comedy fans of the Internet. Beginning March 11th, you can visit and vote for your favourite of the aforementioned finalists once a day!

And the more you vote, the greater your odds are of winning a SiriusXM Comedy Prize Pack, which among other things, includes a SiriusXM satellite radio and and an iPad.  Holy crap!

March 11th is pretty much smack in the middle of TOsketchfest, which means you’ll have the opportunity to check out these four sketch troupes LIVE to help you make your final decision before entering the contest.

You’ll also have the chance to catch many MANY more phenomenal sketch comedy acts around Toronto from March 7th – 17th and join in on the TOsketchfest party.
