It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and if you’re still searching for that special someone, Toronto Sketchfest has got you covered. We’ll be featuring the dating profiles of some of our local troupes, so you can catch a glimpse into the minds of Toronto’s sketch performers and maybe…their hearts.
First on the docket is The Reception. A five-member troupe made up of Taylor Davis, Brendan Hobin, Nick McKinley, Carson Pinch, and Jill Welch, they’ve been together for about a year and a half — and in that short time have produced some of the wackiest sketches with the most elaborate props. The Reception recently did both New York and Chicago Sketchfest, and they’ll be joining us again at Toronto Sketchfest in March!
But with all that stage time, it’s hard to find time for romance. So here’s a little snippet of what to expect if you were dating The Reception. See something you like? Catch their shows during the festival, at Comedy Bar on Saturday March 8th at 8pm, and Saturday March 15th at 8pm, and at the very least, you might fall in love with their high-energy, positive sketch!

People often tell me: “Oh, you’re 5 different people? I thought I would be on a date with just one person. I can’t see how this could possibly work out… Why am I on stage?” or “I don’t know what that was, but it was fun!”
