The Templeton Philharmonic are two of Toronto’s most theatrical troupes, and they’re today’s Troupe of the Day!
Their sketch is surreal; silliness with a serious face, sometimes even interpretive dance. The Templeton Philharmonic (Gwynne Phillips and Briana Templeton) have appeared at the New York and Chicago Sketchfests, and even won “Best Comedy Duo” at the L.A. Comedy Festival. Just last year they even headlined the National College Comedy Festival at Skidmore College, NY, with James Adomian and The Improvised Shakespeare Company.
There’s just so much to say about these two ladies and their distinctive style, blending fully realized characters into fully ridiculous situations (and costumes)! They both graduated from theatre programs at the University of Toronto, and are currently the “Emerging Artists In Residence” at Canadian Stage for the 2013-2014 season.
If you’re into sketch with theatrical flair, or just want to see something that’s definitely out of the ordinary and into extraordinary, The Templeton Philharmonic will definitely deliver!
