Sketchiest Sketch Show 2012

The Sketchiest Sketch Show 2012

Saturday May 19th - Comedy Bar

Featuring Approximately 3 Peters (2011 Sketchiest Sketch Troupe Award Winners), supported by Templeton Philharmonic and Smells Like the 80s.

From 2005 to 2010, Approximately 3 Peters geeked large over all the land with their mastery of the sketch arts – time travel, Star Wars references, and fake moustaches.  And then – tragedy.  They grew up.  Pete got married.  Peter had a baby.  Ian bought a Blu-Ray player.  Time would now go forever untravelled.

Not content to let Carlsberg dominate their significantly advancing years, they picked up their Steamwhistle, built a Star Destroyer out of cardboard and strapped on their now-mouldy fake moustaches for a reunion at the 2011 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, only to discover that they were named the 2011 Sketchiest Sketch Troupe.

Now, armed with a general sense of obligation, the Peters are returning to again prove how sketchy they are… by using Peter’s baby as a prop in a poster spoof of the seminal “Three Men and a Baby”.

Join them – and sketch superstars Templeton Philharmonic and Smells Like the 80s – as they celebrate all that is sketchy and raise money for next year’s Sketchiest Sketch Troupe award!

Tickets $10 +HST available online or at the door.

History of the Sketchiest Sketch Show:

In 2010, the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival established the Sketchiest Sketch Troupe Award in honour of The Understudies who had performed in every TOSketchFest from 2005 to 2009.  The Understudies retired and set up this peer-nominated award to honour a troupe that best embodies what sketch, and being in a sketch troupe, is all about.

The inaugural winners were Smells Like the ’80s. True gentlemen, the troupe chose to pay it forward by producing  The Sketchiest Sketch Show raising prize money for future Sketchiest Sketch Troupe Awards. Thus was born a new TOsketchfest tradition: The annual Sketchiest Sketch Show headlined and produced by the previous award winner. Prepare to experience the true spirit of sketch!!
