Past TOsketchfest artists at Toronto Fringe

The Fringe Festival launches this week in Toronto, and if you’re like me, you just can’t decide what to see (besides the inside of the Fringe Tent, of course). Well we’re here to point your funny bone in the right direction. Here’s a list of past TOsketchfest groups that are performing in this year’s Toronto Fringe!

Uncalled For (2009 Best of the Fest Award Winner, 2007, 2008) in “Hypnogogic Logic”
Jape (2008 Producers’ Pick Award Winner, 2009, 2010) in “The Grapes of Kahn”
Flamingo Bandit (2009) in “Right in the Beak”
Peter n Chris (2010) in “Peter ‘n Chris Save the World”
She Said What? (2009, 2010) in “She Said What Happened”

I’m also curious to check out former Sketcherson, Nikki Payne‘s experimental sketch duo show “Go F#$% Yourself (You Know What We Mean).” Something tells me there’s some truth in advertising with this one!

Montreal Fringe Loves Sketch!

The Montreal Fringe Festival wrapped last weekend, and of course, sketch comedy was well represented. Previous TOSketchFest performers were nominated for “Frankie Awards”: Peter ‘n Chris (TOSketchFest 2010) from Vancouver were nominated for the Just for Laughs Best Comedy Award, and our friends Uncalled For (TOSketchFest 2008, 2009, Best of the Fest 2009) from Montreal received a special “Lifetime Spirit of the Fringe Award”. The great news? Both of these troupes will be performing in Toronto at the Toronto Fringe, July 6-17.

Take our advice… if you missed Peter ‘n Chris when they were at the TOSketchFest last November, DO NOT MISS THEM when they return to town. And of course, Uncalled For will blow your mind with their award-winning show Hypnogogic Logic. You’ll love it.
