The Bio:

Beggar’s Canyon is a charming two-man sketch troupe who delight in delivering fun, clever scenes that spoof pop culture and all its franchise forms.

Hailing from Toronto, Beggar’s Canyon has been making nerd jokes on stages for five years, and has played four TOSketchfests, one Montreal Sketchfest and has hosted a semi-regular show at Comedy Bar over the past couple of years.

Beggar’s Canyon features Peter Hill and Ian MacIntyre, whose creative friendship began in the Second City Conservatory in 2004. They went on to form Approximately 3 Peters with Peter Gal, and produced three full length revues including the Canadian Comedy Award nominated PET3RS, played seven TOsketchfests, two Chicago Sketchfests, a couple of gigs in London, and there was that thing in Orillia. They had fun doing it, and they didn’t make any money.

Both Pete & Ian were part of the founding cast of the Canadian Comedy Award nominated Doctor Who improv spoof Doctor Whom. And Ian was a member of the celebrated Toronto sketch troupe The Sketchersons.  Currently, Ian is a working TV writer, and Pete is a working TV executive.

Their work has been inspired by SNL, Ghostbusters, Kids in the Hall, and beloved franchises like Star Trek, Buffy, Doctor Who, and anything else that leads people to cosplay. They still feel irritated by Batman vs Superman. Basically, if you get the Beggar’s Canyon Star Wars reference, these guys will probably be right up your alley.
